The Beautiful & the Fine

Posted on Sunday 11 September 2005

I saw a short Rob Tyler did about a can opener a few months ago. It was simple and wonderful. Check out his DVD of similar shorts exploring the world of the Osterizer blender, the shopping cart and the laundromat called Novice Robots if you can.

But what you should also see immediately are two documentaries Rob shot with his partners, The Beautiful & the Fine and A Thing of Wonder.

They explore themes I’ve been pondering for a long long time now and they do it way better than I ever have. Man, that is annoying and amazing at the same time.

Anyway, the imagery is great and you all need to see them right away. Get out of here and go buy their stuff to support people doing wonderful work.
