This casting call for a gay horror film was recently pointed out to me:

FILM that will be shooting near Tucson for two weeks, January 23 - Feb 5.
Feature film, Nonunion, no pay, but meals, copy of the film and credit

What could that possibly be? I know all about plain old horror films. The killing, the terror, the plain old surprises, the thrills, the chills, the monsters…

So what the hell is a “gay horror” film? Bad decorations? Poor wine choices? Uncoordinated dancing? Anal intrusion with teh Virgin Mary dildo gone awry? What could it be?

Or maybe the gay horror part happens when the happy loving gay couple get stranded on a lonely road in…Kansas! OH GOD! THE FUCKING HORROR! NOT KANSAS!

Actually, that would be more of a horror film for everyone…Stranded in Kansas: The Untold Story!

I find the notion that what you do with your dick or your vaginas to be the sole defining characteristic of your being disturbing. Maybe I’m hung up heterosexual white guy but that’s just seems a little…limiting.

However, I do love the idea of a gay horror film and I hope it gets wide release and has a big big opening.
