I saw this sign,
while bicycling yesterday.
If you click on the image you will see a large gate with a DO NOT ENTER sign on it. The amazing thing is that it also has GATE CLOSED in the sign.
“No shit? The gate’s closed? I never would have noticed. Thanks sign!”
Which begs the question, where people slamming into the gate despite the obviousness of it being closed? The “gate closed” part seems a tad redundant. If you can see the sign you should be able to see that the gate is closed which means that you didn’t need the “do not enter” part either because you’d be driving into a closed gate and most people don’t do that unless they’re high or really stupid.
Even more ironical is that the sign is on a closed gate leading to the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind. It’s almost like someone there is tormenting the poor bastards. Only blind drivers wouldn’t see the gate and the sign is a cruel joke on them. Deaf people can see the gate and the sign and that sign is a slap in the face to them.
I think someone needs a good talking to at that place. They have to stop subtly insulting their charges! It’s just not right to be making fun of the blind and their bad driving skills or the deaf who you have to scream at very slowly and loudly to let them know they’re plowing into fences.
