fish hook cactus low

This cactus was designed by Mavin Johnson in 1947 to catch the vast schools of fish that swam through Tucson during the war. Shortly thereafter, the cactus broke out of its pen and rampaged through the Sonoran desert almost provoking a war with Mexico until it settled down and had a family near what is now a national forest.
