I saw this quote in a signature in a picture forum last night when I was up at 3AM looking at pictures because sleep was literally making me crazy,

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.” - Buddha

It’s all well and good advice for maintaining perspective while you go through your days. Nothing is important, everything a game and we are just a withered dream of ourselves.

However, I doubt Buddha thought that thought and offered that advice while in the midsts of the flu. A coughing headachey Buddha shivering under a tree is not as warm and welcoming an enlightened being as the healthy Buddha.

People don’t want to hear that crap anyway. What they want are the tales that tell them they’re wonderful and special and perfect little heavenly minions of light that are allowed to act in any insane destructive way they see fit.

What I think, the enlightened really need to do is to come back. All of them, a mighty army of all the gods and saints and mentally enhanced beings that are in all the tales. They need to get off their lazy asses, come back, and kick some ass Chuck Norris, or Jet Li, or maybe even Matrix style. Yeah…Matrix style enlightened ass kicking.

What we, as a species, need is enlightenment with a vengeance!!!

Imagine it man. All the enlightened that were here in the past and who tried to teach something important, all that shit we spew and never follow and don’t even understand.

The mighty army will come back, they’ll all be dressed meticulously, spectacularly cool motherfuckers, and they’ll be carrying tons of fucking weapons. Vengeance will be theirs! Man it will be beautiful!

All those enlightened fuckers will come back and they’ll kick some serious ass. They’ll go from city to city, house to house, and unleash their new teaching…enlightenment with a vengeance. And then maybe someone might just understand the words. Or they’ll have their ass kicked in a really cool way, you know, with superpowers, crazy martial arts moves, and grand explosions.

Yeah…I’m definitely delusional from lack of sleep. But hidden in insanity is often a kernel of truth and that kernel is fire roasted and oh so tasty.
