A few weeks ago, in an email to a friend, I came up with the phrase “perverted monkey minds”. The next thought I had was, “That’s a great band name.”

Even more amazing than the thought itself or the band name off shoot is that a quick Google search turned up that no one had put “perverted monkey minds” in that order before I had that dark and lonely night. And as a corollary to the amazingness, no domain name squatters had thought to register pervertedmonkeyminds.com/.org

So now I own both domain names and I just need to create a band.

I see 4 or 5 people dressed in monkey suits but with the crotch cut out so that you can see a variety of saucy underwear. They’d play punktronica, a kind of cross between punk and electronica with a lot of funk and hip hop thrown in for the hell of it.

Actually, all I really want to do I think is to shoot the break out video for Perverted Monkey Minds (some of the kids call them PMM but those in the know just say “pmm” which sounds like something a perverted monkey might say) and their song, “Banana pocket”.

The video would have the costumes and a lot of underwear changes. Lots of hot girls doing the standard hip hop video ass shaking dance. One shot of the monkeys looking at some girl shaking her ass like there was something wrong. Then cut to “the idea”. Cut to that monkey with a can of red spray paint spray painting the still dancing ass. Cut to all the monkeys nodding approvingly and then jumping on her.

You know, I’m just tossing out ideas. Or something like that. High gloss imagery is the key. Saturated colors. Silly fun. Kind of like the Monkeys circa 1968 only less sucky.

Not less sucky sucky. That was Perverted Monkey Minds’ second single.

By 2018, PMMs idiom changing punktronica had swept the nation with a kind of zen joyousness spurring the revolution of the US electoral system. And that, it was told by shamans scouring the desert for the end of time, made the Baby Jesus smile.
