A few weeks ago I was hiking to Baboquivari Peak and looked up at the clouds. The first thought I had was, “That looks just like a dragon.”
It spanned the sky with the tail pictured above the peak. I didn’t get a good set of photos to stitch the giant cloud dragon together. But if you look at the satellite photo of Baboquivari (an Indian sacred place by the way) it kind of looks like a dragon, or maybe a lizard or snake or maybe even a seahorse.
One of those oddities of life. It’s a great place to hike, you’ll see millions of Mexican walking across the desert with nothing but a gallon of water, and there’s a cave of wonder and delight too. Run, don’t walk to Baboquivari!
And if you go up a deer trail on the east side of the mountain you might just see this face watching you all the way up the mountain.
And if you look hard enough and listen hard enough you just might meet the Man in the Maze.
And if you do it in the summer like I did when this picture was taken,
you might just go a little loopy. I now have huge respect for illegal immigrants walking across the Sonoran desert with a gallon of water and determination. Doing that is insane. Mexico must really really really suck for anyone to ponder doing that much less actually do it.
