Yeah - don't worry Mummy :) I'm 19, and not actually wanting to kill myself, just have an assignment that is totally sucking, so i was curious, and Scott's website came up first ....it's actually quite funny, altho I think the help details down the bottom need to be bigger, and alternatives to killing yourself (eg - go on holiday or change jobs) could be included :)

I feel compelled to jump on this train .
Now, Mom...take a deep breath. I am sorry you are dealing with your own child who may or may not want to kill himself. I cannot think of anything more awful, being a mother myself. I do feel your pain. In other circumstances than yours, though, Mr. Christensen can be very funny and his tongue is stuck WAY up his cheek. His head used to be stuck way up his ass. But , he's better now . And we hope your son will be ,too. Given that he's 17 he probably doesn't want to talk to you, but, it is your job to help him. He's still not growed up yet. And, it's damn all right to be investigating what he does on the computer, How else would you have known? Being a mother myself, I know teen boys aren't letting Mom in on a lot of things anymore. But, they might leave clues if they know you're checking out their computer.
But, it's not the fault of Mr. C. that your son is curious about suicide. And he's right about screaming. And, the ingenious ways he's come up with are pretty funny. If your son got all the way through it, he should've been laughing by the end...hopefully realizing how stupid it is to kill yourself.
I hope you talk to your boy, and if he needs help get it. Everything Scott says about diet and sugar are correct.
And I also know that troubled teens can actually grow up to be pretty good humans.
Good luck.

While I appreciate your concern for your depressed son, I seriously doubt anything he's read that I've written in the distant past or present has effected him in any way...at all...other than possibly making him laugh.

Have you read the silly comedy piece? If you had you might not have been angry because it so clearly lampoons that desperate state. And I know because at one point in my life I was that depressed and was, quite literally, laying on the floor trying to figure out the best way to end the nightmare.

Something snapped and instead, I got up and decided to quit a good job and travel.

So I understand that emotional state and at the same time know that it's just silliness to feel that state of mind.

Now, a good question for you might be why you're snooping in your _17_ year old son's computer. He should be an adult in all but legality by that age. If not, then something went horribly awry along the way.

But most important since it works wonders, suggest he eat well. It is amazing how badly sugar effects people. Sugar is in everything in the Western world these days and it kills. It perverts the mind and causes all sorts of bad thoughts, depression, madness.

This concoction of pills: omega fatty acids (in the form of flax seed oil with lignans is great although any pill of omega-3 fatty acids will work), pantothenic acid, selenium, and L-tyrosine. Helped me enormously. You could suggest he try that.

Coupled with a little exercise, good nutrition, definitely no hydrogenated oils or sugars that aren't already in foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and I bet the depression disappears in two weeks or less. At the very least he'll feel better physically and maybe that will be the trigger to get him to make the change that he needs to move away from the darkness.

Hell, just cutting out sugar may do it. Just tell him to drink a lot of water instead of soda.

I hope it works out for him because there's no greater silliness than ending your own life.

By the way, CAPITAL LETTERS, is screaming on the internet. No one likes a screamer. Calm, reasoned words are better and get a better response.

All the best to you and your son.
