A chance encounter with my music library reminded me of the movie Run Lola Run.

It opens with this narration,

Mankind, probably the most mysterious species on our planet. A mystery of open questions. Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? How do we know what we believe to know? Why do we believe anything at all? Innumerable questions looking for an answer, an answer which will raise the next question and the following answer will raise a following question and so on and so forth. But in the end, isn’t it always the same question and always the same answer?

For some reason yesterday, laying in my apartment, head filled with mucus from the flu, that quote really seemed poignant.

Laying here in my apartment now, head still filled with mucus and now quite foggy, the quote reminds me that I am one serious motherfucker. That’s what’s in my head all day long. It’s a never ending torrent of questions without answers. Even when I’m finishing writing a ridiculous comedy about Don and his adventures it’s still there, man!

Man, that is one inside joke.

My teeth hurt. I’ve never had flu symptoms where my teeth hurt. Oy.

In lieu of happy funny thoughts, here’s gummy bear carnage seen this weekend,

gummy bear carnage

Perhaps not a deep question, but I’d really like to know where you took this picture…. something about it reminds me of upstate NY. (no, not the gummy bears, the background). Perhaps it’s my fond memories of autumn and little mom n pop motels up there while escaping the city… anytime I’m near that feeling, I’m nearer my answers.
